Inauguration of Forestry England’s New Seed Processing Centre

Last week, Forestry England inaugurated their new state-of-the-art seed processing centre at Delamere in Cheshire. The Minister for Nature, Mary Creagh officially opened the new timber-framed, net-zero facility, designed to process up to four tonnes of tree seeds annually – a significant investment in the UK’s forestry sector. This marks a major step towards climate-resilient forests in England – a mission that BCC is proud to be part of.

The centre features advanced BCC equipment including cone dryers for conifer seeds, gravity separators to sort and grade seed material, and climate-controlled storage capable of preserving both conifer and broadleaf seeds for up to 20 years.

At BCC, we are proud to contribute to Forestry England’s journey in building strong, future-proof forests that store carbon, support biodiversity, and benefit generations to come!
